Season Three Swatching

I made my husband watch Downton Abbey’s season premiere Sunday night.  Just cause.  He asked lots of patronizing questions and nodded to my answers with affected interest.  I don’t mind, I laugh at myself a little for watching it too.  Only, I wasn’t the one laughing on cue to Maggie Smith’s one liners.

This is for the Downton Abbey knitalong, which explains the pretty, pretty yarn above.  It took me most of the show to wind my yarn into a ball.  This is my first time to use Madelinetosh, so I’m pretty excited to know what everyone is talking about, though I wonder if I should have used fingering weight instead.  It’s also my first Hannah Fettig pattern.  I bought Knitbot Essentials a while back for the Whispy and Effortless cardigans in particular.

So, it’s begun.  Maybe by the second episode I’ll have some progress shots.  Just wait, I bet I won’t even have to ask my husband to watch it with me.  I wonder how many references to Americans as plucky, unconventional upstarts will be in that one?
