I was also thinking up a guest blog post Shannon asked me to write about photographing our finished knits. I enjoyed putting my thoughts into words, so please check it out at luvinthemommyhood and remember it's not too late to join this knitalong. If you sign up today, you can start with me!
Also, here are a some of my instagram photos of what we were doing as the knitalong began.
I love that the town of Wichita Falls, Texas not only had no natural falls but also had a Spinal Tap "Stonehenge" moment of it's own, paying a builder for a 4.0 story skyscraper rather than a 40 because they failed to notice the decimal.

What lovely vacation photos! It seems like you had a wonderful trip. Also, I gather from your FO pictures on your Ravelry page that you even had some time for knitting. I just finished reading your post over at Luvinthemommyhood and I loved it. I always enjoy your photos, whether the subject is a handknit item or something else entirely.
ReplyDeleteThat location looks wonderful. I wish I could visit those mystery falls.
ReplyDeleteI also read your guest post. I always said I love your photos :)
I saw your pictures on Instagram and they are truly breathtaking!!! What a beautiful vacation spot!
ReplyDeleteAnd how exciting, a guest post! Your tips are great!!! I always depend on my husband to take shots if I am modelling, and most of the time it works, but I will certainly use some of your tips from now on!
Thanks, Sara! I did accomplish a LOT of knitting for a vacation. I finished Nachtfalter, Just Beachy, and started Reef Knot Tank. I bet your getting quite a bit done on your vacation too. I hope you have a good, refreshing time- no stingrays, right?!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elena! It was beautiful. Utah feels like another planet to me. There is every sort of rock formation and caverns there- very unlike the coast where I live. You're an adventurous sort of girl, so I know you'd like such a trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Monica! I'm glad there was something for you to glean from that post. I'm no pro and don't care to be, so I haven't much technical info to give. I just know what I like and fiddle with things until I get them there.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Looks amazing - although I'm a little nervous about the hanging off the cliff shot...
ReplyDeleteIt was, Libby! My son was pretty disappointed that my husband ruined his staged cliffhanger shot by walking around in the background :/ He's silly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful vacation! I'd love to go back to Zion and actually get out of the car, haha. Your guest post was great!
ReplyDeleteOh! AND you should definitely use your remote. It makes selfies so much easier! You just have to remember to hide it when the shutter clicks. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vanessa! I know, I know... I am tend to not think about learning something new until the moment where I should already know it. It's just a remote, not rocket science, right? :)
